That would be pretty cool - I'd help out with implementing those.
Icon stretching would be cool too.

I'd also like to know how emblems are registered with Nautilus.  From
what I can see, an arbitrary image can't be an emblem before it is
registered somehow.  I agree that emblems should be treated like
keywords, but it would be cool if arbitrary images could be attached to
icons without being a keyword/emblem.
