People not on the list can send messages to this list. At one point, we had
that off, but it caused major problems with cross-posting discussions with
the rest of the Gnome mailing lists. The same problem happens with the
gnome-vfs list at ximian.com.
A good way to fix this is to move the list to gnome.org, where there's a
solution to that general problem (I can't remember all the details) in their
list server configuration. If there's someone who can get the necessary
access to the gnome.org list server, is knowledgeable about Mailman, and
wants to volunteer to help me move the subscriber list and archive over
there, I'd appreciate the help.

PS: There is tons of spam that Mailman stops at the door, by the way; these
are just the messages that get through that first level.
