Well moving past my object oriented idealism, I'll agree with you for the 
time being and say that the navigation style property is probably better for 
now.

However if metadata was properly inherited by child folders from their parent 
than i would encourage the object property. The main problem with an object 
property right now is that is forces users to switch it on for every folder 
they view, which is also the problem of per-folder zooming etc. Obviously i 
would prefer my ideal solution since i use open in new window mode, hence the 
navigation property will have little effect on me.
