Picky, picky, picky...  :) OK, I'll fix those bugs later if the patch is
accepted.

Hmm, so you're basically suggesting a navigation property instead of an
object property...  That's a tough call.

A navigation property would be useful if you were using "Show Hidden
Files" to look for something, in which case you might want to navigate
around with the same settings until you found it.

An object property would be helpful if you were using "Show Hidden
Files" because of the content of a directory.  F.e. you might always
want "Show Backup Files" for directories with source code (because of
emacs), or "Show Hidden Files" for your kernel tree (because of your
.config).

Since I began working on this to satisfy the second situation, I'd
prefer the object property approach,  but I don't care too much.

Ah, it's too bad we don't have a navigation mode in addition to an
object mode...
