I see your point about submenus making things hard to select. But adding
the "New launcher" makes it four "New.."-type options and its starting to
get cluttered. Also my suggestion was about adding more stuff there, like
"New text document", "New mail" and so on...
Yeah. Once we add more stuff, I agree. Is the menu defined on an XML
file somewhere like the keyboard shortcuts? If so, one could hack the
XML and try different things out.

Yeah, I have seen it. But I dont keep the sidebar open, since I am used
to work more in "MacOS" mode, not in "Windows Explorer" -like setup. I
have sidebar and toolbar turned off, and by default everything opens a
new window. It would take quite a lot of screen space to have wide
enough terminal on the sidebar, that it would become non-practical on a
laptop screen.
