[Nautilus-list] Links to non-existing directories (dynamic mounting) on desktop

Dear all,

I have just switched a machine from gmc to nautilus. I am running Debian
Potato + Ximian Gnome. I am dynamically mounting my floppy and cdrom
drives via autofs.

I am experiencing a problem where when I create a link on the desktop to
the floppy drive, this link will get deleted by nautilus as soon as the
floppy gets automatically unmounted. This is of course a very clever
behaviour, however, what I am looking for is a behaviour that triggers
the mounting of the floppy by double clicking on the link on the
desktop. For this the link icon on the desktop must stay. Any help how
to achieve this would be greatly appreciated.
