Maybe the menu should only be editable in any major way (other than perhaps
simple things like reordering) in "torn-off" mode, when the menu is acting
like a window. Would simplify things for the user and the programmer, as
the menu (i.e. the window) isn't in any danger of going away. May not be
the best idea but it's a suggestion.
