[Nautilus-list] Memory hog with image previews

Hi,

I am a member of Digital Blasphemy and thus have the entire collection
on disk - that's ~500 1152*864 JPEG images.  Nautilus managed to
generate the preview images for this okay, but when I re-enter this
directory Nautilus hangs for ~30 seconds (NFS directory) and eats memory
- gkrellm shows all physical memory and ~60 meg swap used.  Can the
memory usage be reduced - this is not really acceptable.
