This is definitely something we are aware of. We started on this feature and
had a hard time getting it right. Our bug
<http://bugzilla.eazel.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4788> is about returning to this
issue after version 1.0 of Nautilus is done.

This particular suggestion is related to our bug
<http://bugzilla.eazel.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1560>, which is about adding file
operations in general. Your point about how New Folder would be a
particularly useful operation is a good one. Feel free to add remarks to the
bug report or even write a new one if you feel strongly about this point.

I'm not sure I agree, but I understand the suggestion. If you feel strongly
that this is a good idea, you could put in a feature request into
bugzilla.eazel.com, which will guarantee it won't get lost in the Nautilus
1.0 shuffle and we'll be reminded to consider it later.
