Hi,
First an foremost I want to say how excited I am with your work on
developing Nautilus. I can't wait for the next few months to pass by,
and see where nautilus will take us.
But that aside. I try to organized my allways messy home-dir yesterday,
and decided to use Nautilus for it.
I didn't encounter any problems, and I must say my home-dir looks a lot
cleaner than it did before, I can find my files again. :-)
But I did find a few usability issues. Forgive if they have been
discussed before, but I can't recall seeing them on this list. Ok here
goes:
- It would be nice if the directory opens/expands during a drag 'n drop
to a directory in the tree-view. At this moment I had to open/expand the
dir by clicking the triangular icon next to the dir-name, before doing
the dnd operation.
- Creating directory by right clicking, and selecting from a
dropdown-menu, on a dir in the tree-view would be a handy feature. At
the moment I first have to open the directory and than click in the
right pane, to create a dir.
This is especially cumbersome If I am about to move files from another
dir to the new dir. It takes quit many steps to create the dir, and
finally move the new files there.
- The tree-view show those triangular icons besides every dir, it would
be more clear if they would not appear when there are no sub-dirs.
Thanks for your attention,
Aschwin
