FWIW I plan to look into this when i find the time.
Other "randomly missing" but important features include:
43472 - "Show hidden files" preference isn't easily accessible
41671 - Desktop lacks auto-arrange
48470 - Sidebar does not remember state
40468 - Unable to (inline) rename files in list view
45110 - list column maximums are too small, [..]
I submitted a patch about the last one, but I don't think it was
considered for inclusion at this point (Note to self: attach the
proposed patch in bugzilla).
I will bring this up again, though. It IS an issue - only made worse by
the fact that the column limits don't take zooming/font sizes into
account (46260). I'm surprised this isn't reported more often.
BTW, the missing "add shortcut/launcher" feature is Bug#46307. Consider
adding your thoughts on it there, too.
