It would "make sense" in the broadest sense, but yet another thing to choose
before you even try the program for the first time might not be good. The
key to good use of choices like this is to be sure the program presents them
at a time when people can make an informed decision. Consider this question:
How can you decide if you want a Nautilus directory the first time you set
Nautilus up, before you even know what's in the Nautilus directory?

There is room for improvement here, but adding some kind of choice to the
first-time druid is not such an obvious win that I consider it mandatory for
Nautilus 1.0 -- I'm happy with our current plan.
