[Nautilus-list] icon view confusing

I belive most people scan horizontally left to right going down and not like
Japanese vertically top to bottom and moving to the left.

My point is..trying to find a file seems like a daunting task with the that icon
screenshot...which is like so.

iconA icon-imageB iconC
***** *********** *****
       ***********
iconD *********** iconE
***** *****
       iconF
iconG ***** iconH
***** *****

I like the uniformity with the vertical alignment but the horizontal would be
nice if it were consistent (horizontally uniform). I've tried scanning with my
eyes and it's a chore trying to find a particular file ..especially if it's
sorted via size, alphabetical order, etc. If an icon is larger than others
thenn simply lower all others so there is no overlapping. Yes, this lessens the
amount of icons viewable in one page and creates additional scrolling but is
much easy try to locate the a particular file. Consistency.

Here's another screenshot which is vertically aligned but not horizontally. Just
had laser eye surgery so maybe it's just me who has trouble scanning ;-)
