This is the eventual goal.  It will probably always be necessary to do some cleanup, and
occasionally
rewrite the whole database.  But in general, my phrase "frequent updating" refers to
exactly what you said:
that the usual mode for medusa should be to update the relevant files when it receives
notification (from fam, or some similar inode monitoring service), and this is part of
the development plans.
