Just read about the quick-drop tagger in the faq. Sounds like it
implements mass tagging, but only for the artist and album fields.
This would be good enough to me as they happen to be the fields I care
about. They're also probably the fileds most people care about. Sounds
like a neat idea, I like your use of drag-drop everywhere. This sounds
like it might be pretty intuitive.
