[Muine] a multiuser muine ?

Just wondering if anyone has thought about this:
1). take a streaming part of muine and make it into a daemon or thread that can be started / controlled by some PHP backend (from apache) which in turn takes requests from some Ajax-based UI.
2). then, change the above daemon / thread in 1). so that it sends the audio to local speakers but to some remote IP.  The idea is that the remote IP is actually some wifi-based media adapter (like those from D-Link or AirExpress Base station/AirTunes).

If such is possible, one can host the daemon/thread on some dedicated media box (e.g. Tivo) or even some hosting service.  Then, I just go out and buy a bunch of wifi-based media adapters and hook them up to various speakers and/or boombox in the house.  Then, members in my household can use any browsers around the house to control what songs to stream to which adapter around the house.
As advanced browsers appear in many devices (e.g. cells, mini-tablets like the Nokia 770), the UI to this multiuser-muine can be used by many people at once, and from many kinds of devices.

The PHP backend typically would send "signals" to the daemons/threads to stop/skip/rewind/resume songs being played, and which IP a particular song should be beamed to...

By separating the UI from the streaming components, the costs of developing the server side can be vastly lowered and maintained separately.  Moreover, the wifi media adapters can be cheaply made as they just listen for streaming packets at a certain port, decrypt the data and play it.  No need to have expensive display and controls per adapter....

Thanks.

;-e).
