I just tried installing every FC1-related GStreamer RPM I could find
on the various sites, and then tried Muine again. Nothing, still no
sound coming out of my speakers.

Then I installed Link's RPM package and voila - it works! Too bad the
cause will remain unknown now.

By the way, do you have any long-term plans (2.8 maybe) of getting
Muine into GNOME?
