Re: Maemo training material

Anybody interested in putting together a GNOME Mobile training page? To start with it could list the components and point to any relevant training info like this.

Hi all,

For those interested in training people up in GNOME Mobile technologies,
you could do worse than giving a Maemo training course. The Maemo
training material has just been refreshed & updated:
http://maemo.org/news/announcements/8fc56f28049811debcf53fcee52907820782/

There are 4 sets of very detailed written material, designed to serve as
course material in 4 modules:

Maemo technology overview: 1 day course
Maemo Getting started: Build environment, toolchain, the basics: 1 day
course
Maemo application development: 3 day course
Maemo platform development: 2 day course

Although, for my money, the Maemo application development module is much
longer than I would be able to teach in 3 days. And Getting started is a
prerequisite for the development modules.

Hope this helps some of you! I know that good GNOME developers are
harder to come by than good developers these days, perhaps training
people up is a solution?

I would recommend coupling the technical training with a community-based
software development course, which outlines community dynamics, tools,
social norms and values.

Cheers,
Dave.
