 In the mailinglist you 'probably' find my question with Owen's answer.
After that you'll find the question again together with a new answer.
Here it is anyway:

 After the memprof arguments you can add "--" before your program and
its options. To give an example, say you want to memprof this command:
 ./myprog --fancy_arg1
do like this:
  memprof -- ./myprog --fancy_arg1
