Re: [gnome.org #17001] Application received from Mayank Sharma (mayank8019 AT gmail.com)

Hi all,

on one hand, he made quite a lot of work for GNOME during GSoC, on the
other hand, he still hasn't finished his project
(https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gvfs/merge_requests/58) and I don't
see much activity regarding this issue during the last two months
(presumably because of school) without my insistence. However, he
recently proposed
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libgdata/merge_requests/21 which
relates to his project. I am not sure what all needs to be fulfilled
to become a GNOME member, but I would suggest waiting until he
finishes his project at least...

Regards

Ondrej

Dear Ondrej and Philip,

The GNOME Membership Committee is about to process Mayank's
application to become a GNOME Foundation Member and therefore need some
feedback about the applicant and their work on GNOME, both past and present.

Remember that vouching for a contributor means you really think the applicant
is committed to GNOME and will carry on contributing in the future, and that
you trust the applicant and their work. If unsure about vouching or not, please
let us know why you don't feel comfortable enough in advocating this applicant.

For further details about the applicant, feel free to have a look at the
their application at the following link:

https://mail.gnome.org/archives/membership-committee/2019-November/msg00034.html

Thanks,

The GNOME Foundation Membership Committee
