Re: [gnome.org #16376] Your GNOME Foundation Membership: we need some more information

Dear Gnome Team,

I'm an UX/ Interface designer and design teacher at a local university in town. (Novorossysk, Russia)
I've shared and worked using Gnome technologies with GBA Ships e.V in Mosbach, Germany (non-profit) and with
OM International ICT (Carlisle, UK- also non-profit) and I had a OSS group in Krasnodar, Russia and Kunming,
China. While in China I was a strong advocate for OSS and training my fellow co workers into the ways of
Linux 😉 (Freshterminal Inc, HQed in Kunming, China and working in the US - California)

After 4 years in China I'm back as an expat in Russia working and sharing my knowledge and experience with my
students and also promoting open source, from Linux and BSD but more specifically related to Gnome and KDE as
I use GTK+ for most of my work and some QT here and there as well.
Unfortunately I have lost touch with my Gnome friends back home as I've been overseas for more than 10 years
now.
I'd like to join the community so I can not only speak about it but also be a proper representative to
recruit and create an opportunity for young developers/designers to get hands on experience in programming
and developing interfaces using Gnome technologies. The community is quite small in Russia as a whole and
being a foreigner allows me to invite and get to know more people for the project.

I'm preparing and hoping to organize talks and conferences here to raise awareness in this city and region.

As you can see, long story short, I'm a huge evangelist and very passionate about the cause. That's one of
the main reasons why I hope to be part of the foundation and to keep spreading the word and to send new
people your way! :)

If there's any additional information you require, do let me know.

Best,

Marcus

Subject: [gnome.org #16376] Your GNOME Foundation Membership: we need some more information

Dear Marcus,

Thank you for applying to become a member of the GNOME Foundation! In order to
process your application, we need a bit more information.

It would help us to process your membership application if you could tell us a
bit more about any recent contributions that you have made to GNOME, in your
case that could be some examples of places where you have been talking about
GNOME, and possibly some current foundation members who could support your
application. Once you have provided this we'll get back to you as soon as we
can.

Be aware that your membership application and any further interaction in this
process is publicly available in our mail-list archives.

Best wishes,

The GNOME Foundation Membership Committee
