Dear Kunaal Jain,

 Thank you for the opportunity to elaborate on my membership
application.

 While I have not been able to attend any further Rust/GNOME events
(all having place outside of Mexico), I keep interacting with the
people from the 2017 Mexico City Hackfest via IRC, mostly on #gtk-rs on
irc.mozilla.org and #rust on GIMPNet. My nick is  "saiba".

 Because and since the hackfest, I have become a sufficient Rust
programmer, and have written code, opensourced, that can be witnessed
at https://github.com/saibatizoku . My achievement is that I am
building a Rust-only technology stack for monitoring food systems, with
distributed networking and storage.

 My next goal is to write desktop applications with Gtk-rs.

 I could not have gone this far without the GNOME/Rust community, which
has welcomed and guided me on the path to learning how to write good
Rust code.

 I would very much like to participate in more events, as well as to
have the opportunity to propose talks at conferences, and to volunteer
when possible within the community, as a member of the same.
