I'm not directly familiar with Michael's work myself.  He's quite a new
member of the community, first becoming involved by randomly showing up
at a hackfest earlier this year.  I know that he has jumped right in
with being an active member of the docs team since then, and that he has
come to two events -- GUADEC and MontrÃal Summit (paying for at least
the second one, and maybe both, on his own).

He also organised the Toronto GNOME 3.2 release party that we recently
had.

He's an enthusiastic contributor and a really nice guy.  I have reason
to believe that he will be around for a long time.
