Summary:
GNOME Shell, Zeitgeist, other stuff.

Detailed description:
I started using GNU/Linux (more particularly, Ubuntu) in 2006 and got involved in the Catalan Community Team
soon after its creation, helping with event organization and support on forums, mailing lists and IRC.

One year later I started contributing with bug management and packaging in Ubuntu and ended becoming an
official developer; I'm also involved in Debian (there I maintain, for instance, gbrainy, which is developed
using GNOME infrastructure). Additionally, from time to time I translate stuff into Catalan.

My actual involvement with GNOME started late 2008, when I became interested in GNOME Shell and send some
little patches for it. From there one in participated in Google Summer of Code 2009 with the project
"Integrating Zeitgeist into GNOME Shell" (as part of which I rewrote Zeitgeist -together with its maintainer
Seif Lotfy- to split the engine from the GUI, having them communicate over D-Bus, and created a branch of
GNOME Shell providing several new functionalities using Zeitgeist).

The work from my GSoC on the GNOME Shell side wasn't merged yet (a patch with the first chunk of changes is
currently waiting to be reviewed though), but I got almost forty patches which weren't directly related to
Zeitgeist merged into Shell. From the Zeitgeist side, I've become one of the Maintainers of the project and
have been responsible for rolling out all the tarballs we have released so far.

Contacts:
Seif Lotfy (seif AT lotfy.com) (Zeitgeist Initiator)
Marina Zhurakhinskaya (marinaz AT redhat.com) (GNOME Shell developer)
