the contributions that Richard Stellingwerff has made for the GNOME
community in recent times. Your input will be greatly appreciated to
help us to make a fair and informed decision in the granting or denying
the applicant as a foundation member.

The major contribution from Richard Stellingwerff that I know of is his
work on the Clearlooks GTK+ engine, which became the default
engine/theme in GNOME 2.12.
As one of the founders of this Project he cleared the way for some
advances that happened in the way that GTK+ engines are written and
structured today. The creation of the Clearlooks engine has facilitated
the development of new engines and today there numerous forks of the
code base, that provide their own unique style.

Richard himself has stopped development on Clearlooks since late 2006,
when the cairo port of the engine was pretty much done. I do not know of
any larger contributions to other projects since then.
