Dear Andre,

The GNOME Foundation Membership Committee needs more information to
process the application of Petr KovÃÅ. Since [he/she] has listed
you as the primary contact, the committee would like you to list the
contributions that Petr KovÃÅ has made for the GNOME community in
recent times. Your input will be greatly appreciated to help us to make
a fair and informed decision in the granting or denying the applicant as
a foundation member.

(for better understanding: ïthough i'm not a native czech speaker, i
have been subscribed to the czech gnome-cs@ mailing list since middle of
2007.)

ïPetr KovÃÅ was the driving force behind the push of the czech gnome
translation in the last months (supported by Pavel Sefranek, Lucas
Lommer and ïïKamil PÃral).

the czech gnome translation had been drowning for the last two years and
Petr KovÃÅ was already in 2007 one of the two persons who came up with
contributions from time to time on the gnome-cs@ mailing list.

because there had been no response of the former translation team leader
for weeks, at ïfirst Petr became the de-facto leader and later on the
official leader of the czech translation team, elected by the newly
created czech gnome community. in only two months, he and his team
managed to get the czech gnome translation into a nearly perfect state
again (with only two big devtools modules missing,
see ïhttp://l10n.gnome.org/languages/cs for exact information).

in general, Petr has been very responsive on the gnome-cs@ mailing list
that i am also subscribed to.

from my point of view, he definitely deserves becoming a gnome
foundation member.
