Dear Robert,
Hi guys,
The GNOME foundation membership committee needs more information to
process the application of Mads Chr. Olesen. Since he has listed
you as the primary contact, the committee would like you to list the
contributions that Mads Chr. Olesen has made for the GNOME community in
recent times. Your input will be greatly appreciated to help us to make
a fair and informed decision in the granting or denying the applicant as
a foundation member.
Mads was my summer of code student last year (2006) and worked on the
"Application Data Channels" project for Telepathy (what we now call
Rubes). He produced specifications and working code for file transfer
which we agreed was a reasonable first step. Although I probably didn't
spend enough time discussing and reviewing his code at the time, we've
now re-used a lot of his work as the basis of our current Tubes
implementation. Since the SoC project, despite my slightly
remiss/busy/distracted responses, Mads remained active in the Telepathy
community and progressed his work, much to his credit. I support his
application.
At your service,
The GNOME Foundation Membership Committee
Regards,
Rob
