The GNOME foundation membership committee has a diversifying view on the
application of Sami Pietila. Since he has listed you as
the primary contact, the committee would like you to list the
contributions that Sami has made for the GNOME community in
recent times. Your input will be greatly appreciated to help us to make
a fair and informed decision in the granting or denying the applicant as
a foundation member.
To my knowledge, Sami's GNOME work has consisted of working on the next
generation of the gcalctool application to try to address some of the
inadequacies of the current version (namely arithmetic operator precedence).
In that regard, he has been very helpful and we've now moved his work into
a branch of the gcalctool CVS workspace. It's not ready for replacing the
existing gcalctool yet, but Sami has been very responsive towards fixing any
problems that have been reported against his work.
I'm unaware of any other GNOME work that Sami has done.
Hope that helps.
At your service,
The GNOME Foundation Membership Committee
