I use Meld on Windows. I’ll switch to 3.11 for testing.

For those unsure about how this affects the meld installer project (https://sourceforge.net/projects/meld-installer/), I don't plan to create binaries for the 3.11 line, since we now have this improved method.

Please consider this to be an alpha-quality release - and that may be optimistic. On the upside, there is at least one machine on which this binary doesn't immediately crash.
