Hello
I updated my Kubuntu today. Now Meld crashes with the following messages:

/usr/bin/meld:172: GtkWarning: gtk_tree_model_filter_get_value: assertion
'GTK_TREE_MODEL_FILTER (model)->priv->stamp == iter->stamp' failed
  gtk.main()
/usr/bin/meld:172: Warning:
/build/buildd/glib2.0-2.40.0/./gobject/gtype.c:4210: type id '0' is invalid
  gtk.main()
/usr/bin/meld:172: Warning: can't peek value table for type '<invalid>' which
is not currently referenced
  gtk.main()
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

This occurs each time I try to choose a directory in the "Directory
comparison". The drop down works. But as soon as I choos something, it
crashes. Choosing files works.

The installed version is 1.8.4.

Can you help me?

This is a known bug in, either GTK+ or the theme engine that Oxygen uses. As far as I'm aware, the only workaround is to switch to using a different GTK+ theme. Note that multiple themes use the same engine as Oxygen (e.g., qtcurve), so Oxygen isn't the only theme that breaks here. Maybe try Adwaita?

cheers,
Kai
