Apt-get says this version is up to date (I’m using 12.04 Ubuntu). Meldmerge.org says 1.6.1 is the latest stable and 1.7.4 is the Devel version. I’d rather
not download source and build it unless that’s what’s recommended. What version do you recommend? Thanks,

Thanks, but this version of Meld is really much too old to support at this point. If you can reproduce the problem with something recent (1.7.5 is looking pretty good right now) then please do file a bug.
