1.7.3 noise: trying to open a file that does not exist

$ touch a
$ rm -f b

$ meld a b

With meld-1.7.2, this opens "a" in the left pane and a "could not read
file..." yellow-bar in the right pane. With meld-1.7.3, there is also a
diagnostic on the terminal:

    ret = next(task)
