meld 1.7.2 breaks 'meld .' in bzr subdirectories?

Meld 1.7.2 doesn't populate the left side when using 'meld .' from a 
subdirectory of a bzr 2.5.1 checkout and then double clicking on a 
modified file. The file path shown is just /tmp/meld-tmp<foo> instead of 
/tmp/meld-tmp<foo>/path/to/file
This worked in 1.7.1
