Saving Preferences and Setup

Im hoping I havent missed something completely evident but I have searched for
this option.

Is there a way to save a setup in Meld? I often run a diff between to
directories and have to hide  certain directories, specify meld to hide same
files and a few other settings. What I would like is to be able to save that set
of preferences for later recall. Is this (or could this) be possible

My Setup:

Ubuntu 8.10
Meld 1.1.5.1
