Oops, too fast again : I encountered a problem at install step, the 
"make -C po install" command from the "install" target failed with the 
following :
> make[1]: Entering directory `/folk/vrubiolo/Archives/GARNOME/meld-0.9.6/po'
> mkdir -m 755 -p /share/locale/bg/LC_MESSAGES/ && install -m 644 bg/LC_MESSAGES/meld.mo /share/locale/bg/LC_MESSAGES/meld.mo
> mkdir: cannot create directory `/share': Permission denied
> make[1]: *** [/share/locale/bg/LC_MESSAGES/meld.mo] Error 1
> make[1]: Leaving directory `/folk/vrubiolo/Archives/GARNOME/meld-0.9.6/po'
> make: *** [install] Error 2

I commented it (I am not interested in translations) and all went fine. 
Some prefix must be missing here ... (I had also edited the prefix in 
the INSTALL file).
