Found it in manual: one has to append "base" to not modify background
color, and then eg. "bold".

    keyword whole case color227;;bold+italic

However the keyword "case" is drawn with black color. Grepping for
"bold" in syntax/ yields empty result. So it seems that it's not
possible to apply the styles in syntax coloring?
