I've never had aspell capabilities with mc.
Surely mcedit doesn't handle that?

PS. with *this* Deb7 installation's Midnight Commander 4.8.3
can't get <hot Dirs> via Ctrl-\,
nor find its info in the man;
and interestingly <F1> wants to run Deb7's on-line-help.
