Re: mc Digest, Vol 123, Issue 5

My old mc also has no entry for F9:
 Edit extension file
for Jar/jar.
Perhaps the <jar> format is copyright?
What tools DO see into *.jar?

Hi,

I can't "cd" (press Enter on the file to navigate inside" or
"F3" (view directory listing) some Jar (Java archive) files.

As far I have investigated it seems to happen only for Jar files
which are identified by "file" as "Java archive data (JAR)". For Jar
files which are identified as "Zip archive data, at least v2.0 to
extract" the "cd" and the "view" work as expected.

Is there something which can be configured to get it working also for
the "Java archive data (JAR)" files.

used versions
mc: 4.8.13 (Debian Jessie 3:4.8.13-1)
file / libfile: 5.19 (Debian Jessie 1:5.19.2)

cheers
Frank
