mc from minicom

Hi,
  I am trying to use mc on a machine to which I am connected via minicom
(serial  connection).
MC opens ok, but the keys are not functioning well.

For example,
pressing "Home of num lock prints 1~.
pressing page up (num lock/ non num lock) prints 5~
pressing page down (num lock/ non num lock) prints 5~
 pressing "End" in num lock prints 4~.
pressing "end" button prints F instead going to end
of line;


Any advice ?
