Shift-Ins and Shift-Del in X

Hi

The text selection (marking) using shift and arrow keys and
subsequently copying, pasting and cutting does not work in the X
version of mc, though it works fine with the console one.
I know that marking can be done with F3 and other editing operations
by F4, F5, etc. But is there no way the former key sequences can work
?
