MC on diet?

Anyone tried and succeeded in compiling MC and linking it with dietlibc
instead of glibc? I'm curious to see how that would affect memory usage. My
Linux box has a whopping 32Megs of memory, so I tend to count K's as I'd do
bytes on a 32K machine.
