PLBKAC, Problem Lies Between Keyboard And Chair. mc doesn't come pre-configured for all terms out there; you'll have to teach mc what you extended keys are - look at Options->learn Keys...
When running MC under GNOME, there is a visual bug when viewing binary files and scrolling down (some characters change into another). I can send a screenshot, if you want.
