Hope this is useful. Ran a quick build and test and seems to build and run okay on Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS

Warning-level glitches in build:

CCLD seems always to end with warning ar: `u' modifier ignored since `D' is the default (see `U')

Building vfs:
