Follow-up Comment #2, bug #17268 (project mc):
I think the patch is wrong. Shift-Enter needs to be distinguished from Enter
in the editor to allow correct paste from X clipboard by Shift-Ins when
auto-indent is enabled. Enter does auto-indent, but Shift-Enter doesn't. If
Shift-Enter is treated like Enter, the pasted text will look like a stair.
The fix belongs to the single-line entry widget, not to key.c.
