However, in a trial & error / process of elimination approach, I swapped 
out the
.../doc/it/mc.1.in  (for the) .../doc/pl/mc.1.in and (though nobody in 
Italy would
be satisfied with the results) the resulting mc.hlp.it did not suffer 
from the same
condition. So, Could there be some flaw in ...doc/it/mc.1.in ?
