suggestions

i downloaded mc-4.5.99a. i'm very happy with it.
below are some good things that i enjoyed:

* symlinking is easier (same filename appears in
dialog box)
* killing mc no longer overwrites its config file (to
defaults)
* home-end keys on xterm works

but it's not bug-free. below are top biting ones:

* when viewing inside zip files or after exiting them
mc displays
  this error message and screen becomes corrupted:
  zip error: could not create output file
(/home/levent/archive.zip)
  uzip (copyin): 'zip' failed - non-zero exit sattus

  what i understand from this error is, mc tries to
write archive files

  this bug also keeps cdrom busy(of course when
archive is in cdrom)
  i forced to exit mc, then cdrom happiliy unmounts.
  cdrom unmount problem also occurs when i looked
inside tar files.

* when numlock status is on, '/' on numeric keyboard
works fine.
  but when numlock is off, '/' produces 'o' on xterm

i have some wishes to see as mc's functionality

* i have (and lots of users have i believe) lots of
archives in cd's
  which are signed as executable (0555), thanks to
vfat module.
  there is good to see mc has an option like 'dont
execute files'
  so it's possible to enter inside archive files even
they're
  marked as executable

* color theme setting menu: i have a different
colortable. i believe
  some users have too

  my computer is:
  Linux gediz 2.4.18-pre9 #2 Fri Feb 8 14:12:26 EET
2002 i686 unknown

  my colortable is:
  export
MC_COLOR_TABLE="basecolor=lightgray,black:normal=lightgray,black:

executable=green,black:link=brightcyan,black:stalledlink=lightred,black:

device=yellow,black:special=gray,black:core=red,black:
  marked=yellow,black:directory=brightblue,black:

markselect=yellow,lightgray:selected=black,lightgray:errors=red,black:
  input=lightgray,black:reverse=black,lightgray:

menu=black,lightgray:menusel=lightgray,black:menuhot=brown,lightgray:
  menuhotsel=brown,black:editnormal=lightgray,black:
  editbold=white,black:editmarked=black,lightgray"
