LiveCD Help

I could use some help creating a LiveCD for GNOME 2.18. I've been struggling all weekend using a couple different tools, and have come to the conclusion it's a bit over my head right now.
I know Ken VanDine is working on VMWare images for
2.18, but are there any brave souls willing to try to tackle creating a LiveCD?
