Re: [Fwd: Exhibitor Magazine Honors LinuxWorld San Francisco 2005 for its Attendee Traffic Density]

Hi,

Unfortunately I'm not going to LinuxWord SF, but I helped at the LinuxWorld Boston stand and for a short time at LinuxWorld SF last year (and LinuxWorld/Expo UK for the last X years). I found in rewarding and useful, both for me and Gnome as a whole (I hope) - the only downside at Boston was that we all came together at the last minute and our booth was somewhat amateur (but wouldn't have been there at all without kind hardware loans from Luis and JRB). You will meet some interesting people (and a fair amount of boring people, but that's life) and learn stuff about Gnome you never knew.

That experience made me think about writing a cheat sheet for Expos - but it turns out that there is already an excellent set of notes at http://live.gnome.org/MarketingTeam/EventsOrganisation thanks to Thilo, Murray and Luis. It will only take a small amount of preplanning from those notes to have a 100% better booth than we had a Boston (although this is a bit of taller than Mickey Rooney competition).

As an aside - is anyone in Portland organising a booth for OSCON (because I can help out if needed).

Paul
