Hey, I like the idea of  ' icons on a way '
But why is there a search button ?
and why does it say ' your way home ' , I taught it had to say ' Simply Powerful '.

I like the icons you use, I'd use : Gedit, Nautilus, Evolution, Firefox, Console, Gaim.
As icons : Tango.
Note that the resolution has to be : 740 * 300.
The colors of the first one are too dark IMO, and those of the second mockup resemble the 2.14 version too much.

I'd put the icons on one horizontal line ( bottom of the splash ).
And change the font and text of ' your way home ' to ' Simply Powerful ' and the same font as ' GNOME 2.16 '
Also the Gnome foot should be next to ' GNOME 2.16 '.
As for colors, I'm fine with blue but you guys can decide that :)
