While investigating a bit on routing support for public transportation
I found this rather cool site:
TRAVIC
http://tracker.geops.ch/?z=9&s=1&x=2048856.5361&y=8307101.3664&l=transp
ort
You could zoom out and see "blobs" representing feeds from various
locations in the world.
It visualizes trasportation data (using GTFS feeds) in "real-time"
(real-time as in it mostly shows the positions of vehicles according to
the static timetable data). Some locations should presumable use actual
real-time data (where the vehicles are actually positioned in reality).
They also have a blog http://geops.de/blog/worldwide-travic (it mostly
seems to be in German).
I haven't yet found if they provide an API for this data, but the code
used is available on Github).
